We’ve recently been working with Space Heating & Plumbing, re-designing and printing their business cards and promotional flyers. Their business cards now have glossy highlights (called spot UV) listing all of the services that they offer. Click to see a photo of the business card showing the spot UV.

This is what David Platten of Space Heating said about our design: “I came in with a half-hearted idea of what I wanted. The brief was that on the back of my business card, I want a list of our services that we offer but not in a list.”  Luckily the designer James came up with a great idea that you can see here.

Is Your Stationery Breaking The Law?

There is a legal requirement that companies and limited liability partnerships have to make sure that their legal name is stated in legible lettering on all letters, order forms, invoices receipts, websites and emails. Check now. Are you complying with the law?

It doesn’t stop there. You’re also breaking the law if your letterheads don’t have the following printed on them:

Your place of registration (ie. England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland
Your company registration number
Your registered office address

It’s not really in our interest for our customers to be in jail, so please check you’re not a Larry Law-breaker. If you are we won’t tell — just stop using your old news letterheads and get some new ones printed sharpish. Check out our range of lovely stationery.

Most of our print items on the main printing.com website has a guaranteed turnaround (we’re working on the rest). We make it easy for you to plan your promotions. Just look for the little logo next to the item you’re interested in. Approve your artwork by 3 p.m. and your order will be available for collection 3, 5, 7 or 10 working days later. For instance, an item with a 3 day guaranteed turnaround means approve Monday, collect Thursday. 5 working days: approve Monday, collect the following Monday. If you’re supplying artwork electronically, please allow up to 24 hours for us to check it.

How It Works…

You don’t have to understand it to appreciate it, but here’s a brief explanation if you’re the inquisitive type. Full Colour (or process colour) is a system which allows a multiplicity of shades to be created from just four primary printing inks — Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black (CMYK).

Full colour means you can have virtually every colour of the rainbow, without worrying that you’ll need the pot of gold at the end to pay the extra costs. As many colours as you want. As many photographs as you want. One price. Simple.
